Neighborhood hero

Yesterday afternoon Boyd and I were sitting at home, and a little knock came from our door. So we opened the door, and a crew of neighborhood boys (around 5 years old) were at our door step. It seemed that one of them had gotten his shoe stuck in the tree, and in attempt to get the shoe out they also got thier football stuck. So they requested that Boyd help them. As it turns out, the shoe was at the top of this giant tree! (we suspect a brother threw it up there). So boyd started climbing, very impressive I might add. One little boy said, "He is like a monkey!" Well after a lot of climbing and shaking of the branches he got the shoe and football down. The crew of five year olds cheered! He is now known around the complex as the neighborhood hero.

This weekend it was a bit cold and rainy, so we made treats! The rain triggerd our sweet tooth. here are some carmel apples. . .

And home made oreos! Boyd really enjoyed these. He was so excited that he almost dropped them! But I was able to save them from sliding off in the nick of time. From the look on his face, I dont need to tell you how much he LOVES sweets.

Needless to say, Im starting a workout routine this week.

Park City

This last weekend Boyd and I went up to Park City for the sundance film festival. My dad and mom go every year, and because boyd and I live in Utah, we were able to join them this year. We had so much fun and saw so many great films. This is a picture of boyd and I in park City.

Here we are waiting to see a film. We saw a really good documentary called prom night in Mississippi. It was about a little town in mississippi who last year, 2008, had their first integrated prom. It was weird to think that segregation still goes on in the united states, but the film shed light on the students who were activly trying to change the racist behavior in their town. It was very inspiring, if you have the chance you should definitely see it.
There were many famous people in park city, but this is the first one I saw and got a picture with. Can you guess who it is? I'll give you a hint... Home Alone.

We also had time, because of the holiday, to go snow boarding! Boyd is a pro so he just hit the slopes, but my mom and I are beginners so we had a lesson. But by the end we had the hang of it! My mom went the whole way down the mountain without falling. Our instructor said we were impressive. I on the other hand, liked to sit a lot. Whenever I felt I was going to fast I would just fall over, still working on how to stop :)

My mom as a snowboarder... Isnt she so cute in her hat?! My dad was seeing films so he didn't join us, but he will next year!

We had such a fun time and have to thank my parents again, for such a wonderful trip!

December!

So, I have a lot of catching up to do! December was a very very busy month, so Im just going to sum it up with some highlights in one big post.

December 19, I was able to see my niece turn two!

One morning at 3a.m I Woke up to find it a winter wonderland outside. So boyd and I went out and played in it, for fear it would melt by the morning. We took out his snow board and he pushed me around the parking lot. We had a lot of fun, but Boyd was really tired for his final at 8 a.m.
After we were done outside we went in and had apple cider, then went back to sleep.

We headed down to san diego to spend christmas with my family. While there, we did all of our favorite things, including visiting sea port village. Our favorite place.

It was beautiful weather!

I was able to visit with some good friends of mine....

Found out that Holly is having a BABY!

Spent Christmas with my family.. (This is a picture of Kim and I christmas morning).
