Oldies but goodies

So a couple pictures have been sent to me in the last week and I thought I would share them with you. These pictures are from the time that Boyd was a missionary in my ward. We both participated in roadshow skits (seperate ones of course) and these are pictures from that night. Boyd performed with his companion to a song from saturdays warriors. Isnt he so cute as a missionary? Now you can see why I called him when he got home :)

I performed Mr. Postman with the relief society.. (thats me in the red dress)

Those were some good times..

Tis' the Season!

So its mine and boyds first Christmas! And because we are poor newly weds, we have decided to make our own ornaments. Last saturday we bought our tree, I know its a little early, but i just couldnt help it! So the last week or so we have been working on some crafts!

Our first "batch" of ornaments consisted of a wierd blend of Apple sauce, cinnimmon, and glue! it made this wierd dough, then we rolled it out, and cut shapes out with cookie cutters.

After they hardened we hung them on the tree... this is the end result! And they make our house smell delicious.
The second ornament is a quilted ball. My mom sent me her christmas fabric scraps, and styrofoam balls. We covered them with the scraps of fabric and we came out with cute ornaments!

This one is my favorite!

We also strung popcorn, hung up candy canes, and little red bows. This is our tree so far! It looks prettier in person. We have one real ornament that my dad gave us last year, its hanging in the middle up near the top! (we are missing a string of popcorn on the bottom, becuase as i was stringing, boyd was eating!)

Boyd and I are having so much fun being poor. It forces us to be creative and we get to spend quality time together. Not too mention all the great memories we are making! Thanks mom for sending those supplies!

On friday we did pre- marathon activities like picking out our running outfits and CARBALOAD!! haha. Kim and I decided to bring a camera and take a picture of every mile we ran. It was a total blast.. here are some pictures... (notice the progression)

(mile 11.. felling ok. Dont worry, we beat the man in flannel pants)

(mile 16, and our mother with a crazy plastic bag hat, im out of the picture because im crying..)

(mile 24... I feel like death)

The END! I felt pretty bad.. but we were happy it was over!

We got a cool finishers medal and t- shirts. Although it was my first marathon, it is officially my last. Im hanging up my running shoes and retiring... Love you kim.. thanks for everything!

Home Sweet Home

I finally have pictures of our humble abode... This is boyd carrying me across the threshhold! haha

Our living room view from the kitchen. Those little orange lights are our holloween pumpkin lights!

Our kitchen view from the living room. We have a pretty good sized kitchen for an apartment! And just in case your wondering.. that is a monkey mask hanging on the wall (on the right side) that boyd made in high school. He really wanted to hang it.. so now it holds my apron!

Our lovely bathroom.

Well now you have seen the place..! well almost.. there are two bedrooms I didnt post pictures of... too messy.

Saturday Doughnuts

Back in San Diego Boyd and I would get doughnuts every saturday morning. But when we got to st. george we couldn't find a good place. Well.. we found one! We are so excited to bring back our little tradition. Can you guess which ones boyd picked out? (yes those are M&M's on that doughnut)

Yup.. boyd picked the doughnuts with candy on top. How does he not weigh 500 pounds?!

I prefer the plain ones...

Oh boyd...

Livin' on love

So i was listening to the radio and this song came on by Allan Jackson and I just got a huge smile on my face because it is exactly mine and Boyds life! And then boyd made this sweet face that fits the song perfectly :)

"Two young people without a thing Say some vows and spread their wings Settle down with just what they need Livin' on love She don't care 'bout what's in style She just likes the way he smiles It takes more than marble and tile Livin' on love"

I have the cutest husband ever!

Summer as Newly weds

So far our summer as newly weds has been quite exciting! We spent a week in Guadalajara Mexico with my parents. We had an absolute blast. The picture below is us in front of an orphanage. We went with a group of students at a local university. We brought a lot of toys and played with the kids. Boyd and I each found at least one that we wanted to take home... but they wouldnt let us :( It was a really nice orphanage that even had a little doctors office in it. The kids looked happy.

This is Boyd and I walking down the streets of Talaqueapaque. This is the town I buy my purses from!

There was a really neat round about in the middle of town and on sundays local band would play in the middle of it. There were also people selling puppies, paintings, food and other little crafts. I liked mexico a lot because everyone spends a lot of time outside and on the streets socializing. They didnt seem to rushed by time. It was a nice change of pace!
